Hey, yall! Hope you found your way here okay! My name is Hallie, and I am so happy to be here!
Writing has always been a sincere passion of mine, and something I have been doing since I was a child with funny little fanfictions. As I grew older, I realized that I didn’t just love telling stories, but I also enjoyed analyzing, researching, and writing everything I have found down into a nice little bundle of papers. Psychology, symbolism, sociology, history, to name a few, are subjects that have always caught my attention above anything else. The only idea that made these topics exceptionally more intriguing was to apply them to media such as video games and movies! I may pop an article with these themes out every once in a while.
Video games, especially niche titles, are my bread and butter in life, but what even more, I adore the idea of helping bright and new developers get their brand new game out there! I find that a good handful of games get shoved to the bottom of the list by major title games, and I genuinely believe that these top games are harming the quality of the gaming market. The mass produced feelings major games tend to give out just doesn’t cut it anymore for most consumers, and we might be seeing a second ‘1983 game market’ crash soon.
Unfortunately, I do not have many credentials, for right now, my articles are just my opinions, but I am hoping that my efforts here may help me go further within gaming journalism! In the future, I’d like to aim to get the very credentials that may help me do this permanently, such as a psychology or journalism degree! At one point, I had tried pursuing creative writing and ended up winning a book contest of 20,000 entries for a horror book I wrote, so there is that, haha! Though I may have no degrees within these areas I am speaking of, I am no slouch on these matters as I have taken classes within the past on a few of these subjects, and took the research further into my own hands when I found college to be to far outside my reach. On the side of that, my video game experience is extensive. My first system was actually a bulky computer where I was playing disc games like Brickster or even Pajama Sam. My first console game was the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and since then I have collected and kept retro systems and games, endlessly played emulators, and do have experience of a wide arrange of game genres. Emulators have been gold to me as these helpful little tools have helped me find one of my favorite games of all time: Sims Urbz in the City on the Gameboy!
As for the content you will find on my page, you will find reviews for niche or new and upcoming games, analysis for older movies, and much more. At the risk of sounding like a hipster, I do avoid mainstream titles. You won’t find reviews about the newest God of War or Call of Duty, unfortunately! And don’t worry, I play an arrange of games, from spooky to farming, tycoon simulations to sandbox, and many more. I will always have an interesting game I will be excited to tell yall about!
P.S. I would also like to, and feel the need to state that I refuse, REFUSE to use A.I. and will not review games that use AI.
